Capitol District Office in Albany
In October 2003, the Fund
and Committee For Modern Courts opened an office in downtown Albany
to manage the organizations operations in the Capital District.
The office is within walking distance of the State Capitol, the
Legislative Office Building, the Court of Appeals, and the New York
State Bar Association headquarters.
From this
office, the Capital District Director acts as a legislative liaison
on behalf of the Committee for Modern Courts, meeting with members
of the State legislature, the Office of Court Administration, and
other government representatives, and represents Modern Courts at
hearings and other local public functions. The Director also plans
and implements Citizen Court Monitoring projects for the Capital
District from the Albany office, and organizes Modern Courts
spring and fall Capital District public education forums.
